The whole "Legion of Space" series, is better then it deserves to be. Williamson knows how to keep a story moving. After reading the first book I had to get the second, third and forth.
This third book is short and not as impressive as the first two. The Sphere edition includes a Legion short story.
I recommend all of his short stories and novels. ( )
