This starts with a creepy man who can read minds telling a story about his former landlord to the grocery delivery boy who just delivered his groceries. It's a framing device that becomes important later in the story.
The focus of the story is a young man who is given an antique store to manage by his wealthy father. He finds himself preoccupied with an African mask he finds in the shop and soon stocks nothing BUT that type of item.
It also tells the story of his young wife, who he married at the behest of his father and then ignores her until her eventual suicide, and of his father, who seems like an upstanding fellow but who is hiding a really nasty side.
A very compelling story, and the art matches it perfectly. (
