Stinky is a pimary level book about a monster named stinky. He loves his swamp and the filth that he lives in until a human infiltrates his home. He tries to make him leave, however, the monster ends up befriending the boy.

Great for curious young readers around grades 1-2. Davis' Stinky follows the story of a monster and its toad. Stinky likes the swamp to himself just the way that it is. One day a child comes into Stinky's swamp. Stinky does not like that, so they try to do anything they can to get rid of the child. ( )

Booktalk: Stinky is a little swamp monster who loves a smelly day. He loves pickled onions and pickled bananas and the mucky mud of the swamp and slimy slugs. But he doesn’t like kids because they take baths and don’t like swamps and eat apples and cake, yech! So imagine how upset Stinky gets when he sees that a boy who eats apples has built a tree house in his swamp! Stinky needs a plan to make that boy get out of his swamp if it’s the last thing he does!

Not good for read aloud, will re-visit as an early reader. The story is fun. ( )
