Very sweet but not saccharine; lovely soft illustrations. ( )

In this book it is all about how much he loves his little bear. He tells him he loves him in many examples though words and visual images in the book showing how strong, high or even low it may be. He Loves him for many reason, but one important reason he says is because "you are you". The Book is a very sweet and caring book that shows how to express how you love someone. I love this book because there are many sayings that I say to my kids that are similar such as, I say "I love you as big as the sky" and the book says "as blue as the sky". I also like to read this book to my kids because they add to the story by say "I love you as much as ___" and we can all participate in a reading activity. An extension to this book could be the last page sayings " I love you because ____" and "I love you as much as ____" and have a slot to put a picture of the person who you love. Another extension could be where the little bear says " I know you love me and I love you too, but I love you more than all the ways that you love me!". ( )

This book is a sweet book and is all about love within a bear family. It is not very interesting and I would not reccomend it for students. I would use it for pre-k children and younger.
