This is a great book for teaching your little ones about the size of numbers. It's pretty had to draw or show a child a thousand or a million of anything and this book does it well. After reading this book to my daughter a bunch of times she's been able to express herself using large numbers. I could ask her if she wanted some pretzels, for example, and if she really wanted lots she'd exaggerate and tell me she wanted HUNDREDS of pretzels or THOUSANDS of pretzels. ( )

Pipkin goes on an adeventure to find out how big a million is. He counts 10 fish, 100 penquins and a thousand snowflakes. Then he looks up to the sky to see a million stars. There is a poster that really has a million stars. It shows children that a million is really a lot! I would use this with PK-1st grades, durning a theme on winter. It is a fun way to count and use estimation.
