The resistance leader, Jasper, believes he is the incarnation of God and the reader sees everything through his eyes. He does not experience time in the usual chronological sense, but rather his awareness jumps between different days throughout his life, seemingly at random. While possibly not everyone's cup of tea, I enjoyed this style of writing. An interesting read and a thought-provoking one.
