Book 8 said Joe Winslow was a lawyer in Richmond with two sons before the start of the civil war. This book says Joe was a flaky husband and he had not seen his half siblings since they were very young.
We follow Cassidy Winslow to the Yukon Gold Rush. Cassidy is the son Od Dan Winslow of book 14. Cassidy’s cousin join him for part of the adventure: Jubal Winslow, the son of Tom Winslow book 14, and Aaron Winslow, the first born son of Belle and Davis Winslow book 9. ( )

This book starts with a reunion of Sky Winslow's children by his second wife, but his son from his first wife shows up! He's been prospecting for gold in California! The children go with different aunts & uncles, & a few go to Seattle, where they hear about the gold rush in Alaska! ( )
