There is a lot of good stuff in here, though not all to my taste (naturally). Don't like the title but oh, well. My only real complaint is that there is almost no Buddhist writing, which is astonishing when you consider the enormous wealth of scintillating Buddhist writing. Bly apparently likes Sufi and European/American, and that's mostly it. That leaves a lot of uncovered territory. Nevertheless, lots of good stuff here... ( )

Bly has a knack for compiling poetry. This is a lovely set of spiritual poems from a variety of cultures--one that has meant a great deal to me since I received the book as a gift.
