After dipping with Vol 2, I think the Testament series hit its peak in Vol 3. The Job story struck me as particularly well done, both as a dramatic story in itself and as the best-working correspondence between ancient and modern timelines. The rest of the book comes pretty consistently close to that standard. ( )

This one seemed to be much more about the gods than the humans. Love the art, especially Marduk. Still not sure I understand the concept of the Globos. Definitely want to see how it ends though. ( )

I keep trying to throw myself into Testament but there's always something just ... there ... that prevents me. Sometimes it's the art, which can go from gritty to pretty in a panel. (There are times when I feel like I'm reading The Dark Knight Returns, and there are other times it's more like Gustave Dore.) Sometimes it's the plot, which tweaks stories from the Bible while seemingly in awe of them. This arc is presumably the climax of the story, as we have the grand battle of the gods (including a new one). Unfortunately, it's over almost as soon at it begins, which doesn't help explain why the author needed six more issues to wrap up.
