The events actually seem to lead into one another. It has all the key stories of the mythos in a solid retelling of the basic legend with nothing major removed (apart from the Roman Emperor stuff) and no unnecessary stuff added. The only reason for the relatively low rating is that I'm too old for this version - when younger I would have loved it. I'm keeping it for my granddaughter to enjoy when she's the right age. First line: ~ The boy left home at first light, enough food and drink in his rukshack to last him the whole day ~ I liked this one. Like Robin of Sherwood, also by Michael Morpurgo, this book is written for children age 9 to 14. I am trying to read a variety of works about King Arthur and these stories of the Knights of the Round Table and Queen Guinevere were simply and clearly told. It was easy to read and understand unlike another Arthur Book I read by Roger Lancelyn Green that I found tedious and boring. This one I raced through. And Michael Foreman's water colour illustrations are incredibly beautiful. Again this would be a bit intense for very young children. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
