A spectacular collection of Cohen's writing. This book imbues itself into the deep, frenzied world that encompassed the renown poet. He is stark, honest, and meaningful in his poetry, lyrics, and observations of the world around him. I was very impressed with this collection and I believe it holds an abundance of literary merit.

Recommended to all who love poetry, Leonard Cohen, and lyrics.

Another decent collection of Leonard Cohen's poetry, though of all his books I have so far read I have to confess I liked this the least. There's nothing wrong with the poems on offer in Death of a Lady's Man but, in my opinion, there were few stand-outs. Personal favourites include: 'The Absence of Monica', 'She Has Given Me the Bullet' and 'How to Speak Poetry'. ( )

This was an introduction to this poet. He is quite crude and irreverent at times but some the work did give me ideas. I wouldn't say though that his work is anywhere near great. ( )
