Attualmente non vi sono conversazioni su questo libro. 3 original novellas by Poul Anderson, Robert Silverberg, Gordon R. Dickson: all on the same theme of "the sun stood still". It's an intriguing idea...how will these 3 very different styled authors deal with it? But they all attacked the same story line, "God initiated a -sign- for all mankind...and they ignore it!" You really need to read all 3 stories in order for the full sense of Man's failure to sink in. And then you're left thinking about how you, personally, would react to a sign-from-God-that-can-not-be ignored. Or explained away--the rules of the universe prohibit the stopping of the Earth's rotation (AND the moon's) at a specific time, and then starting it again, exactly 24 hours later. And it's also inconceivable that a super scientific extraterrestrial culture would play a "prank" on us--even if they could. And then, after lying in bed contemplating how I, personally, might react....I caught a fragment of a song on the radio: "what have I done to help?" and found myself emotionally prepared to receive the message. This immediate question is way more important than the theoretical one of the book. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
