Carlin is deliberate in introducing the child to the plight of the rain forest and the animals who live there. The pictures are somewhat inviting, but the fun facts and text are level appropriate and appealing to the reader. ( )

This book is informational because it includes accurate information. I think it is great how it simplifies rainforest animals and their habitats for young students to understand. The "fun facts" are a great addition to the pages. It is a great simple science unit divided up into chapters, with vocabulary words highlighted in the back.
