Write the summary of the book About twenty-five million people visit England every year. They come from countries all over the world. The name 'England' comes from 'Angle-land.' The Angle and Saxon people came here from Europe in the fifth and sixth centuries, and they called it Angle―land. Oxford and Cambridge are England's two most famous universities. They are cities with river―Oxford has the Isis, and Cambridge has the Can. You can see the city from a tour bus, or take a tour on foot. There are lots of big, beautiful old country housed―also called 'stately homes'―in England. Many of them are open to visitors, and you can go inside and see their wonderful rooms and beautiful paintings. In some country houses, the family live in part of the house. 3. Write your feelings about the book in details. "Stonehenge, or Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, was built between 300 and 1500 BC. What is it for? Nobody knows."(p.24) It's so mysterious. How did they build? 4. Write the words, phrases or sentences that impressed you the most in the book and explain why they impressed you. Or you could write your questions about the book. "People say, 'It's always rains in England.' Not true! But because it rains, the countryside is green and beautiful."(p17) I had a stereotype of the image about England that there are lots of rain. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
