NCLA Review - A Christian proposal for fitness that includes first-person insights into how the food we eat and the way we exercise are manifestations of the faith we confess. Hafer provides anecdotes from his work as a registered physical therapist, as well as from his work in congregations. Written in a winning, conversational style, this book includes many useful tips on exercise and diet. Hafer's most interesting proposal is encouragement to shift from the need-to-lose-weight paradigm to the need-to-feed-others paradigm. The concluding chapter, "Fit to Serve," includes commentary on how congregations and individuals can be fit to serve, especially in interfaith perspective.
