Give peas a chance is a bunch of stories taken by Morris Gleitzman. For example, one story is about a boy who is trying to create world peace with a plate of veggies, another is about a so called "impossible mission" that he has to accomplish, and swap a bomb with three ice creams on a plane, and a lot more.......... Please read this book, it is very funny and awesome!!!!! Gleitzman has taken characters that he has used in many of his books ( e.g. Rowena from Stickybeak) and written another chapter or short story about them. Given the fact that the majority of these books are on the challenge already, we should probably include this. However, he does let his political thoughts and opinions shine through in a couple of stories. I have a slight issue with someone using a children’s story to blatantly push their ideas on global warming and the war in Iraq. Personally I think he should stick to the wacky, family orientated humour which he does best. However, that being said, I loved the text messaging story which used Rowena and her Dad as he builds up the suspense right until the end.
