I loved the Babysitters Club books growing up. This book is realistic fiction because the events in the book could really happen. There are no pictures in this book besides on the cover which looks like it was drawn using oil pastels. The content of this book is about a girl named Claudia Lynn Kishi who is obsessed with her baby cousin. She thinks she is the sweetest, cutest baby ever and she spends all her free time at her Aunt Peaches and Uncle Russ's house playing with the baby. She spoils the baby with gifts and helping around the house until Aunt Peaches snaps. Claudia is hurt and stops visiting for a while until they work things out. Aunt Peaches told Claudia they enjoy her company and great help, just to call and tell them she is on her way instead of just popping in and surprising them. Sometimes they just need a little alone time. Once Claudia realized how she had been smothering them, she backed down but still visited often and offered her BSC care tips. I think the reading level in this book is fourth grade. The curricular connections in this book are; family, newborns, baby tips, love and offering help. ( )
