Melrose and Croc: A Christmas to Remember is a cute and easy read about finding the Christmas spirit when it seems everything is going wrong. Melrose and Croc both are lonely on Christmas Eve and both were hitting bumps in the road until they both literally bump into each other on the ice skating rink and become friends. They both are happy they finally have someone to spend Christmas with so they go and buy a tree and wait for Santa. This is a great book for Christmas time and encourages people to spend holidays with the family because there are some people who don't have anyone and would do anything to spend the holidays with someone. They illustrations in the book are very cute and this is a great book for children. I really enjoyed this story and will definitely share this book with my future students. ( )

Visually, this is a gorgeous book. Clark's art work captures the magic of Christmas. The story is quite innocent & "heart-warming", and teaches a nice lesson about loneliness and friendship. A couple of discordant notes. Firstly, Croc goes through some shattering experiences (eg. homelessness) which jarred a bit as I read this otherwise lovely book to my preschooler. Another is the setting - like a cross between New York, London, LA and Florence!
