Independent reading level

I like this book. It was about a sister that wanted to be like her big brother. Author is upset because she wants to copy everything he does. At the end of the book he realizes that sisters can be helpful too.

Each of Marc Brown's books in the Arthur series gives a moral lesson. In this story, Marc relates to the reader by showing Arthur going to school. The reader can then use Arthur's experiences to make their school experience better.

This is a great story for parents to read their children before the first day of school. Arthur is getting ready for his first day and this book takes us through his routine. He is very nervous and anxious about starting school but realizes at the end of the day he likes it! We see some of his friends who are experiencing the same things, as well as his sister DW who pretends she is getting ready for school too. Great for scared kids who are nervous about going to school and leaving home.

This story is about Arthur and his very first day of school. he is nervace at first but finally overcomes his fears.
