"Three years ago, sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy at the funeral of his client, renowned basketball coach Greg Downing. Myron and Greg had history: initially as deeply personal rivals, and later as unexpected business associates. Myron made peace and moved on - until now, when two federal agents walked into his office, demanding to know where Greg Downing is. According to the agents, Greg is still alive--and has been placed at the scene of a double homicide, making him their main suspect. Shocked. Myron needs answers. Myron and Win, longtime friends and colleagues, set out to find the truth, but the more they discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes."--Provided by publisher.… (altro)

I always enjoy a Myron Bolitar book, and this did not disappoint. The novel opens with murder, and it is clear that the murderer is framing an innocent person. But, when the FBI gets involved and comes to Myron, it is with shocking news. His former friend and client, Greg Downing, is a suspect, but there is a problem-he is supposedly dead. As Myron and Win investigate, Myron once again has to confront his former lover and mother of his son (and widow of Greg) to get answers.
A shocking and explosive ending to this book, completely surprised by what happened! ( )

I stopped reading Harlan Coben a while back and after starting Think Twice I wondered what prompted my stepping away, but as Myron Bolitar points out “We are our mistakes. Sometimes they are the best part of us.” I forgot how much I enjoyed the characters and the point and counterpoint of the dialog and action. The issues are current, the intrigue is smart and twisted, and I am getting back in the game having enjoyed #12 in the Myron Bolitar series.

It was better than helpful being reintroduced to the characters that I had come to know so well and see them in their new iterations. Hard to put down, lots of curves in the road and not so deft deflections of serious physical harm. Will Myron and Win survive to #13 - and that is a real question that is left unanswered and making me want more. Thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for a copy. ( )

Myron gets involved in the mystery of how a man in prison left DNA at a murder site. ( )

I have read each and every book Harlan Coben has written. His standalones are great - but I have a soft spot for Myron Bolitar and his friend Windsor Horne Lockwood III aka Win. Think Twice partners up the two again.
Things start off with a curious prologue. A man who died three years ago has just left his fingerprints at a crime scene. How can that be? The FBI comes knocking on Myron's door to ask the same question...

The plotting is impeccable and there's no way you're going to suss out the answer to the question of whodunit. There are twists and revelations along the way that change the direction of the investigation many times. The ending is edge of your seat, nail biting good. I loved being along for the ride as Win and Myron stay one step ahead of the FBI - and others. The two of them have each other's back. The dialogue between Win and Myron is short, snappy and a heck of lot of fun to read.

There are a lot of supporting players - some good, some of them not so much. I'm happy to say though, that Esperanza and Big Cyndi are back as well. We also hear from a mystery person in chapters that are chilling.

A satisfying read that I finished far too soon. More please! An easy five stars from this reader. ( )

I like the Myron Bolitar series. The books read a bit like Lincoln Lawyer with a basketball twist. Here Myron's old rival and sort of modern friend died 3 years ago but suddenly his DNA shows up at a murder scene. Huh? It's a twisty turny story about a serial killer that plants DNA to give the police and easy path to a plausible killer. The ending is a surprise, one that I didn't see coming. I'm not sure I liked that ending but regardless, it's a pretty good book.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.com. ( )
