Myron gets involved in the mystery of how a man in prison left DNA at a murder site. ( ) I have read each and every book Harlan Coben has written. His standalones are great - but I have a soft spot for Myron Bolitar and his friend Windsor Horne Lockwood III aka Win. Think Twice partners up the two again. Things start off with a curious prologue. A man who died three years ago has just left his fingerprints at a crime scene. How can that be? The FBI comes knocking on Myron's door to ask the same question... The plotting is impeccable and there's no way you're going to suss out the answer to the question of whodunit. There are twists and revelations along the way that change the direction of the investigation many times. The ending is edge of your seat, nail biting good. I loved being along for the ride as Win and Myron stay one step ahead of the FBI - and others. The two of them have each other's back. The dialogue between Win and Myron is short, snappy and a heck of lot of fun to read. There are a lot of supporting players - some good, some of them not so much. I'm happy to say though, that Esperanza and Big Cyndi are back as well. We also hear from a mystery person in chapters that are chilling. A satisfying read that I finished far too soon. More please! An easy five stars from this reader. I like the Myron Bolitar series. The books read a bit like Lincoln Lawyer with a basketball twist. Here Myron's old rival and sort of modern friend died 3 years ago but suddenly his DNA shows up at a murder scene. Huh? It's a twisty turny story about a serial killer that plants DNA to give the police and easy path to a plausible killer. The ending is a surprise, one that I didn't see coming. I'm not sure I liked that ending but regardless, it's a pretty good book. I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.com. Myron Bolitar has reopened his sports agency and teams up with friend and attorney Win Lockwood when federal agents tell him that his once rival, long thought dead, former client Greg Downing’s DNA has been found at the scene of a murder. Is Greg still alive? As the pair dig down into the mystery, they find that there are similar puzzling cases in other locales. Could there be a serial killer and is Myron in danger? This is the twelfth in best selling author Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series. I have read many of Coben’s books, but only one or two from this series and that was a very long time ago. Myron and Win are a bit over the top characters; smart, resourceful, and entertaining. There is suspense, action, humor, colorful characters, a twisted plot line in this fast paced, entertaining read. I enjoyed the technique of interspersing the narrative with chapters from the perpetrator’s POV. Although this was successful as basically a stand alone for me, My enjoyment of it might have been enhanced had I followed the career progression of these two characters by having read more books in this series. "Three years ago, sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy at the funeral of his client, renowned basketball coach Greg Downing. Myron and Greg had history: initially as deeply personal rivals, and later as unexpected business associates. Myron made peace and moved on - until now, when two federal agents walked into his office, demanding to know where Greg Downing is. According to the agents, Greg is still alive--and has been placed at the scene of a double homicide, making him their main suspect. Shocked. Myron needs answers. Myron and Win, longtime friends and colleagues, set out to find the truth, but the more they discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes."--Provided by publisher.
