Bound by Ravens is my favorite of the series so far. I wish it were longer because this book was hilarious and the main couple so sweet together with all their murder eyes. ( )

I really liked this, which sort of surprised me as it has a lot of things I’m usually not into—like instant attraction between the couple, and a “mate bond” that heightens their attraction, and simple misunderstandings keeping the couple apart (e.g., “does he love me, or is it just the mate bond”). The story follows two rival thieves who are forced to work together after they try to steal from a witch and are cursed. They also have to deal with an indentured servant–type situation. While they are often in danger and sometimes injured, they also get through each incident and find safe places to hide out, so the story wasn’t stressful.

The author does “swoon” really well—the hero is always smirking and whispering things in the heroine’s ear or leaning in and then not kissing her and making her heart flutter. He’s also sort of relatable and cute, versus being dark/mysterious/dangerous. The swooning and the cuteness were what really sucked me in. ( )
