Hidden Amish Target is the next installment in the Amish Country Justice series and is the perfect page-turning addition. After witnessing a murder, Molly Schultz is running for her life, and runs right to old friend Zeke Bender, who will do whatever it takes to protect his friend from the unknown assassins. Both Molly and Zeke have had a run of bad luck in their lives, and are still grappling with the effects, which adds a whole other level to this clean suspense.

Though there is a level of predictability, it doesn’t take away from the suspense or the entertainment of being on the run with Zeke and Molly. Dana Lynn always does a wonderful job of putting you there in the action and bringing the story alive. The characters are real, and decently fleshed out, though I do wish there could’ve been a little more character development. There is a lot of running as Zeke and Molly go back and forth in a game of cat and mouse while they try to stay alive until the police are able to bring the unsubs to justice, and it keeps the story interesting.

Faith is addressed in moments throughout the narrative, as both Molly and Zeke have had their individual struggles with faith due to what they’ve had to endure in their past. There is a discussion of not being able to forgive oneself, a topic that is very near and dear to my heart as I have had seasons in my own life of unforgiveness, and this fact tethered me even more to these characters. There is a moment where Molly sincerely prays for the first time in a long time and, “She had emptied her eyes and her heart.” I felt this moment so deep in my gut that it took my breath away, as I too continue in my own walk in the wilderness. A very powerful moment that I haven’t been able to get out of my mind.

The quiet yet courageous strength that both Zeke and Molly possess is admirable. I don’t think I would be so calm if I was running from someone who was trying to murder me but they both are focused on protecting those they love, and are keeping as level of a head as they can considering the circumstances. Seeing them stay strong and true to themselves was an inspiration and made this read all the sweeter.

I have enjoyed this series so much and Hidden Amish Target is no exception. It’s the perfect page-turner on a hot summer day, and just the escape I was craving.

Hidden Amish Target by Dana R. Lynn is a suspenseful story. My attention was captured at the beginning, and it was held until the end. I like the main characters. Molly Schultz has good instincts. When she is a witness to a murder, Molly is intent on getting away. She does not wish harm to come to her or her family. Molly finds herself hiding in a van which ends up at the home of her childhood friend, Zeke Bender. Thankfully, Zeke knows who to call. Unfortunately, the bad guys are determined to eliminate Molly, and they do not care who stands in their way. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story. I liked the action and suspense (it had me quickly flipping the pages of the book). I had fun figuring out the identity of the individual behind the killing. The author has mixed danger, suspense, mystery, romance, and faith in one engaging story. While Hidden Amish Target is the fifteenth book in the Amish Country Justice series, it can be read as a standalone. Hidden Amish Target is a riveting tale with an unexpected death, an anxious Amish maidel, a caring horse farrier, tenacious killers, and impassioned prayers. ( )

I loved this fast paced romantic Amish suspense story. I loved Molly and Zeke. I did not want to put this book down. I loved all the action and the suspense. I loved how strong both Molly and Zeke were. I received a copy of the book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. ( )

Another terrific Amish Country Justice book that sucked me into the story, and didn't let go until I'd finished it. The action and intensity started immediately as Molly witnessed a brutal murder and barely escaped with her life.

Molly's life hasn't been easy lately. A year earlier, a tragic accident killed her father and her fiancé, paralyzed her mother, and put her brother into a coma. Molly herself suffered injuries she is still recovering from. As the oldest in the family, it has fallen to her to support her family, so she cleans houses to earn money to pay the bills. As the book opens, she arrives at one place to find no one home, so she lets herself in and begins to work. She's later disturbed by the sounds of an argument and hears a gunshot as she attempts to leave the premises discreetly. The shooter spots her as she runs, and she finds him hot on her heels. She manages to escape by hiding in a van.

Zeke just finished a farrier job and has his non-Amish driver take him home. He is stunned to find Molly hiding in the van and helps her hide so the driver doesn't see her. After he hears her story, Zeke promises to help her get to the police. He also calls his brother, Micah, a US Marshal, for help. Zeke is surprised at how quickly he steps up to help Molly. After his wife's murder, Zeke has been going through the motions of living and questioning his judgment about many of his decisions. He tells himself to back away from Molly's troubles but can't do it.

The person chasing Molly is determined to eliminate the only witness who can identify him, and nothing will stop him. The action is nonstop as Molly and Zeke find themselves on foot and barely a step ahead of their pursuer. From a compromised safe house to surviving a tornado, Molly and Zeke can hardly catch a break. I was glued to the pages as I followed their flight and hoped they would finally find safety. Just when I thought everything would be okay, an unexpected twist put Molly in the hands of the person behind all the trouble. The final confrontation had me on the edge of my seat until it was over.

I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Molly and Zeke. Because of everything that has happened, Molly believes love and marriage are no longer possible. She and Zeke know each other because their families were friends before their district split, and Molly knows she can trust him. I liked watching them grow closer as time passed, and they had to depend on each other. I loved Zeke's protectiveness and seeing his gentle treatment of her. Molly struggles with her faith after everything that's happened, while Zeke has learned that he can count on his. His example helps Molly regain that faith, but she still has trouble believing that Zeke could be interested in her. I wanted to shake her for walking away, and I loved seeing Zeke's reaction when he found out. His big moment at the end was sweet and emotional, precisely what Molly needed to hear.

I loved the epilogue that was included. It takes place two years after the events of the book, and we get a look at what their lives are like now. They have two big surprises in store, and I love them both. The first one I suspected was likely, while the second one made me very happy.

Hidden Amish Target is #16 in the Amish Country Justice series and although I haven’t read them all I have read several and I love them. The Love Inspired Suspense by Ms Lynn is top notch and keeps you biting your nails. Witnessing a murder would be harrowing but an Amish woman seeing this would be especially traumatic, as she enlists the aide of Zeke an old family friend and ends up running for her life. Can romance bloom in the midst of terror and not knowing who is pursuing you? Reading this is like driving a narrow, curvy back road and not knowing what is around the next bend. I enjoyed this tremendously and the courage and strength shown while facing danger with faith to hold on to was impressive. Another great LI read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required. ( )
