One Last Breath is a highly suspenseful thriller with multiple twists and turns and queer rep. The setting of a beautiful Florida spring was atmospheric and fascinating, as were the free diving aspects of the story. I ended up researching more about the Florida freshwater springs and learned that they are threatened ecosystems. One Last Breath is a stay-up-all-night compelling, unpredictable YA thriller. First of all the cover of One Last Breath is eye catching. I love a mystery and this one did not disappoint. Tru wants to solve the 20 year old murder of two teenage girls, Bailey and Celeste. Rio comes to town and has an instant connection with Tru and they work together to try to solve the 20 year old murder. The author developments the characters relationship well. I find it interesting the connection that Tru and Rio have to Bailey and Celeste, the murdered girls. Now that the girls are trying to solve the murder, someone is stalking them. There are a lot of interesting characters in this story. From the shady town mayor to the hippie couple who party with Tru and her friends but also watch out for them. I kept thinking I knew who the murder was and would change my mind. In the end I was surprised. This book keeps you guessing and I would definitely recommend this. ( )
