Opens with "The first of Irene’s memories I eat is the night she learned I had been murdered." I had to convince myself not to quit right there. I made it to about 10%. There are lots of story breaks that don't translate to audio and I couldn't grasp what I was hearing. I needed a little more handle holding. I believe there is a sapling tree on a spaceship eating the composting corpses of the crew members. But how is it a whole planet too and how can it know the thoughts of dead people. Above my reading comprehension/patience.
