"Skeleton Song" works well enough how it is, but I can't help but feel frustrated that this isn't just a full story like the other main books in the series! The world Christopher has stumbled into in this one, Mariposa, is so unique and richly imagined that simply getting a little taste of it here is ultimately unsatisfying, especially if you have read the other books with Christopher and gotten the other parts of his story. ( ) "Sing to me of Mariposa..." For those who have been reading since the beginning, who don't go into this story uncertain of what things beneath the surface are, you'll know why the ending is as the ending is. Be sure. Not Be Certain. Not Be Brave. Not Be Happy. Be. Sure. Surety does not mean perfect understanding of what you're embarking on, its understanding its an adventure you want. An adventure that you are willing to risk everything for because its what you want. Christopher is a quiet character, who like Kade, his Door and how he came to be thrown back to "reality", are hard to discuss fully. But he wants back to his Skeleton Girl and in this short story we're given a glimpse at what they had together. Another short story from @seananmcguire’s Wayward Children world, this time about how Christopher met his Skelton Girl in the world of Mariposa. It’s a short, bittersweet tale of love and love lost, and one that I’m waiting for that saddest of happiest endings for. As always in all of McGuire’s Wayward worlds, you must Be Sure. This can be found on @tordotcompub’s website, and also as a @kindle edition. #books #bookstagram #book #booklover #reading #bookworm #bookstagrammer #bookinfluencer #read #booknerd #bookaddict #bookreview #booksofinstagram #instabook #readingtime #bookblog #blogger #bookrecommendation #booksbooksbooks #readersofinstagram #reader #booklove #instabooks #portalfantasy #seananmcguire #frommybookshelfblog #frommybookshelf #bookish #waywardchildren This is an enjoyable short story featuring Christopher and his love, the Skeleton Girl. It was really great to get a glimpse of Christopher's world; that is the one that has interested me the most ever since book one of the Wayward Children series. Because it's so short, it's hard to write a review of it... I'll just say that as with all things Wayward Children it's a bittersweet story; but also, it was neat to see Mariposa, and learn a little bit about how that world works. Based on some things McGuire has said, I'm guessing that the next time we see Mariposa will be when Christopher finds his door back home, and his part of the story (in the series) will end, so it was good to see a glimpse of his world before that. I'm not in any rush to say goodbye to Christopher, so I'm content with just this glimpse of Mariposa for now. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Adventures are always interesting, but they're not always happy. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
