This series continues to be quite enjoyable. I liked Alexa and Bobby's camaraderie and the quirkiness of their investigations. I thought it was a great concept to have two mysteries in this third book of the Owl's Nest Mysteries, one in the past and one in the present. I enjoyed not knowing what would happen until the very end. If you have not read this series yet and you enjoy cozy mysteries, you will want to read them all. ( )

I had the pleasure in reading the previous books from C S McDonald’s The Owl’s Nest Mysteries series and was excited there was a third installment being release. Double Dog Dare: The Owl's Nest Mysteries is just what I had asked for. Even though it is part of a series, it can still be read as a stand alone. I thought it was a fun, entertaining and a delight to read. I loved catching up with the time travelling Alexa again and seeing that she once again teams up with the angel, Bobby. The two make a great duo and I wanted to see what discoveries were going to be made. I never knew what they get themselves would get themselves from scene to scene. It was so easy to have their story read in just a few short nights. I thought it was a fabulous little cozy mystery. It was great to read.
Double Dog Dare: The Owl's Nest Mysteries will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I believe readers and fans of cozy mysteries will not want to miss this one. It is definitely worth a read. I am hoping C S McDonald will be releasing more additions to their The Owl’s Nest Mysteries series in the future.

Alexa and Bobby are back again. I really like these two together. I thought they made a good team. Although, in this final book in this series, Alexa and Bobby are solving cases on their own. Which I liked seeing Bobby in action on his own. However, what I did miss in this book that I loved in the prior one was the witty banter between Bobby and Alexa. With them both solving cases on their own that banter did not happen.

Yet, I still really enjoyed this book. It is mainly due to the characters that I have grown to like. Seeing Alexa and Bobby in action on their own was nice. Alexa has really bloomed into her own from the prior book. As I have said before, cozy readers should check out these books. Fans of this series will be happy with this conclusion. ( )

This has been my favorite book in this series. I loved that there were two mysteries that needed to be solved. I love Alexa and Bobby. I love this cozy mystery. I love what happens in the past and in the present. I hope that Bobby and Alexa will get to solve more mysteries together. Although I haven’t read the first book in this series, I did read the second (Maxed Out) and enjoyed the characters, action, and dialogue, so I couldn’t wait to read book 3, Double Dog Dare. No worries if you haven’t read the previous books. They work nicely as standalones!

Alexa and Bobby are a fun twosome, and Bobby’s stake in this investigation brought Clarence the angel from It’s a Wonderful Life to mind. Mysteries aren’t one of the main genres I read, but it’s fun to dip a new style in the mix here and there. There’s a bit of time-traveling and a ghost/angel, so that adds to the story’s novelty. Who Knew a whodunit murder mystery could be so fun?
