I've read the first two books in this series. I liked this one--even though there were times I wanted to shake both Colt and Tae and tell them to just admit they loved each other instead of finding reasons why it wouldn't or shouldn't work.

The significance of the title is revealed at the end of the book.

Somehow "man bun" and Colt just didn't jive in my mind. And I thought Dodge and Echo were already married.

I'm glad the three brothers found their spots in life. It was nice to see Lark (the sister again). ( )

This is the third and final book in the series, and I strongly recommend reading the first two before grabbing this one or you may be a little confused. Which is what I did. And I can honestly say, It’s always nice to see characters from the previous novels make an appearance and really helps to continue building the world that the author has created. And this is a pretty incredible one that Susan May Warren has brought to us. She has also made them intertwined enough that Taylor has become a major character throughout the novels.

Taylor is certainly not perfect and that’s one of the things I loved most about her. And part of what made her such a great character. She was so real and relatable. She had her own set of issues. And so did Colt. Which is part of what brought them together. Along with the ridiculously intense chemistry between the two of them. I think there is so much great about this book. Great characters, great plot, intense and gripping action, a great romance, and an overall fun adventure of a read! ( )

A great conclusion to the Sky King Ranch series. Some adventure, action and romance, grounded in a strong family and faith based storyline.

Sundown is the final book in Susan May Warren’s Sky King Ranch series and another one I didn’t get to on my tbr last year (it was a busy second half of 2022 for me).

Like all of Warren’s books, I found plenty of romantic tension, action, and alpha males. But Tae is as intelligent as Colt is the guy who gets it done, which both creates friction between them while also making them perfect for each other. All the loose strings from the previous two books are picked back up and tied together here as well.

But there were also a few things I didn’t love about this book. First, we got a lot of Ranger and Dodge’s points of view which doesn’t allow for readers to get to know Colt like we did his brothers.

And I feel sorry for any new readers who may have picked up this book without reading previous books by this author because she brought so many characters in from previous series (not just this series but at least two others) and tried to connect the dots of how these people were tied together so much it became distracting and confusing for me. I usually enjoy seeing cameos from previous books, but I felt this one was too much too fast. Finally, this storyline felt very COVID-adjacent. If you’re not ready to go there yet, this book may not be for you.
