The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide...
Who wouldn't want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It's the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely...
Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating??she just needs to catch him in the act. That's where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run last year, and she's drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things like spying on the locals, searching for proof that her son's death was no accident...and agreeing to Cora's plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely every day. But what could such a lovely young mother possibly be hiding?
When you really start to look beyond the airy open floor plans and marble counters, Brighton Hills is filled with secrets. Some big, some little, some deadly. And one by one, they're about to be revealed... "A writer to watch." ??Publishers W

Had to wait for this Edgar nominee to be available from the library and could see why. Very entertaining story of three women fighting to have relationships with some very different men. There is one pretty decent guy, one philandering liar and an actual killer and the things the women do are unbelievable ( for me , literally unbelievable…which lessened my enjoyment a bit) Still, a real page turner ( )

“Nothing ever happens in Brighton Hills.” Really?

An affluent gated community in Oregon, Brighton Hills is home to “beige and plastic”, where few people know what goes on behind closed doors. Behind the polished exteriors and manicured façade is a web of philandering husbands and scandalous affairs, recreational drugs domestic violence and many secrets. There is a lot that is happening in this quiet neighborhood and we are introduced to a few of the residents whose stories are central to the narrative.

Cora suspects her husband of infidelity but is unable to catch him in the act. Are her suspicions baseless as her husband often alleges or is her husband carrying one with other women behind her back? She enlists the help of a neighbor who specializes in snooping into the lives of others.
A year after her losing her 22-year-old son Caleb to a hit-and-run, Paige Moretti is still looking for answers. The guilty party was never identified but she suspects that people in her community know more than they are letting on. She firmly believes that her son was murdered and in her efforts to find the truth, spends time spying on her neighbors to uncover their secrets.
Georgia is a quiet one. She hardly ventures out of the house and is seen mostly in her home taking care of baby Avery. Her husband explains her behavior as agoraphobic on account of past trauma. But is there more to her situation than meets the eye?

The third-person narrative is shared from the perspectives of Paige, Cora and Georgia. As the story progresses we get to know more about their lives, their relationships and their struggles and secrets. The plot is sharp and the three main characters are very different and interesting enough to keep you engaged till the very end. The author does touch upon quite a few sensitive themes but balances the narrative with moments of humor. We might not always agree with the logic behind some of the decisions our characters make in pivotal moments, but it does make for an entertaining read. I enjoyed reading about all three of these women who end up supporting each other through all that goes on in each other’s lives. With its fast-paced narrative and a final reveal that I did not see coming, On a Quite Street by Seraphina Nova Glass is a twisty domestic thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. I switched between reading and the audio narration of this book. Imogen Church does a fantastic job of voicing these three very distinct characters. This was my first novel by this author and I cannot wait to read more of her work. ( )

When you read a thriller that is not only plot driven but also brings to life each of the characters, well my friends you KNOW you are going to have a winner on your hands.

Seraphina Nova Glass, knocks it out of the park with this domestic thriller, On A Quiet Street. Just because you are neighbors with someone and they ‘appear’ fine on the outside, you have no idea what terrors might lurk inside their homes. Cora, Finn and Georgia all have hidden secrets that will soon become revealed.

Get this one know! I also listened to the audiobook and let me say the narrator is one of the best, Imogen Church. Fabulous on all accounts!

Thank you NetGalley for the gifted copy in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )

On a Quiet Street
2.5 Stars

On the surface, Brighton Hills, Oregon, is a quiet and peaceful gated community in which the residents live uncomplicated suburban lives. However, underneath the ostensibly tranquil façade lies a seething web of dark lies and dangerous secrets just waiting to emerge into the light.

Despite the compelling premise, the mystery is too slow-burn, and the twists are ultimately predictable.

The narrative is presented from the perspectives of three women. The first is Paige Moretti, a woman devastated by the loss of her son in a hit-and-run, and convinced that the culprit is one of her neighbors. The second is Cora Holman, who believes her husband is cheating on her, and the third is Georgie Kinney, a young mother apparently suffering from agoraphobia.

The main problem with the book is the characters. All are broken in one way or another, and some could even be classified as sociopaths. While each of the women has the potential to be likable and sympathetic, their mannerisms, motivations and/or actions are completely off-putting, and it is virtually impossible to identify with or care about them.

The mystery develops slowly as more details about the victim and the lives of the inhabitants of the community are revealed. The ultimate explanation is thought-provoking and the climax and resolution in the last few chapters are suspenseful - one just has to persevere through the beginning and middle to get there.

Finally, Imogen Church's narration of the audiobook is excellent. She is skilled at conveying accent and emotion, and this helped get me through the book. ( )

What a ride that was! 5 star thriller!! Loved the 3 main characters. Each was a badass in their own way. And oh so many secrets these neighbors all have! ( )

This is the story of three different women living in the gated community of Brighton Hills off the Oregon coast with different storylines. Paige and Grant lost their son in a hit and run accident and she is suffering from grief. Cora believes her husband Finn is cheating but he denies the accusation. Georgia is an English wife of a local judge. She takes care of their baby but never leaves her home. Paige agrees to help Cora spy on her husband and catch him in the act of cheating. Could there be more to Georgia's story. I really enjoyed this mystery thriller novel.
