"A world-changing equation and a wild head of hair are all most of us know about one of history's greatest minds, despite his being a household name in his lifetime and an icon in ours. But while the broad outlines of what Einstein did are well known, who he was remained hidden from view to most...even his closest friends. This is the story of a scientist who made many mistakes, and even when he wanted to be proven wrong, was often right in the end. It's a story of a humanist who struggled to connect with people. And it's a story of a reluctant revolutionary who paid a high price for living with a single dream"--… (altro)

Got this from the library using Libby. I've read my last couple GNs using Libby, rather than Hoopla. Seems they have a larger catalog. At any rate, thanks to Mark for suggesting this. It was a pretty good read about the life of Einstein. He didn't sugar-coat the physics. I'd like to think I'm pretty good when it comes to science and math, but his stuff, once you get past "the Equation", is pretty daunting. I liked Ottaviani's style of having the surrounding characters break the fourth wall and turn to talk to the reader to explain what was going on, out side of the narrative. ( )

Ehhh.... it's not that I dislike this book (I didn't, and I love Jim Ottaviani's books in general), but I'm just *so done* with reading books about brilliant scientists who were a-holes to women. ( )

graphic nonfiction/biography - reviews the personal and academic life of Einstein (brilliant at physics, not so great at family relationships or not philandering) including explanations of his various theories, many of which turn out to be wrong, but still recognized as significant and influential.

90% of the physics conversations depicted at length in here went over my head, but if you enjoyed Ottaviani's Feynman you probably would also like this. Regardless of whether you are into theoretical physics or not, this portrait of the man--and the historical period he lived in--is interesting, though if you end up skimming over the science talk you'll have to skip a good 2/3 or more of the book. Compared to graphic nonfiction in general, this isn't all that accessible, but compared to a textbook, maybe. ( )
