Weird approach and not even illogical to focus on cognitive behavioural therapy of dieting. The problem is, I really don’t think you can achieve this change with a book. Particularly if you are the audience that buys this book in the first place. ( )

Excellent psychological back up for any health program. Helps address the mental and emotional roadblocks that can get in the way of healthy eating and exercise offering practical activities for helping you make permanent changes in behavior. ( )

Nuttig boek, gebaseerd op principes uit de cognitieve gedragstherapie. Voorop staat eerst het aanleren van nieuwe gewoontes, daarna pas het lijnen. Het is toepasbaar bij allerlei dieten, omdat het eerder om gedragscontrole draait dan om afvallen. Ook bruikbaar door psychotherapeuten door de systematische indeling die huiswerkopdrachten mogelijk maakt. ( )

Ondermijnende gedachte\; Volgens mijn dieetplan mag ik bepaalde dingen onbeperkt eten. Dan het toch geen kwaad als ik daar heel veel van eet?
Steunende gedachte: Het zal nog heel vaak voorkomen dat die dingen niet voorhanden zijn: in restaurants of bij etentjes en andere sociale gelegenheden. Als ik niet geregeld heb geoefend met eten tot ik normaal vol ben, is er een grote kans dat ik in dergelijke situaties te veel eet van eten dat ik maar beperkt mag hebben.
