I'm not quite sure what it is, but I love being in Torak and Wolf's world. Even though I'm often on edge from the drama, and sometimes get annoyed with Torak making the same mistakes, I still love these books. I think it's the loyalty between Torak and Wolf, Renn and Finn-Keddin. I adore Finn-Keddin. He is such a thoughtful, firm, understanding leader, father to Torak and Renn. I enjoyed the new character, Kujai, and his relationship with Dark. It's also the closeness these ancient people have with the natural world that is appealing. They know so much about each animal, each plant, and they give thanks for all they use. They are respectful of the land and the other beings that live with them. Michelle Paver does an excellent job of putting you in their world, making you feel things viscerally, making you care about the characters and the place, the Forest and the sea. Love the maps and interior art by Geoff Taylor. Don't miss the Author's Note. I am sad to see the series end. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

It is early spring, a turbulent, perilous time of sudden storms, frozen river fractures and drifting ice. Fleeing from a demon intent on devouring his souls, Wolf is swept out to Sea far from the Forest and his pack. The ocean too teems with danger: sea wolves, sharks and hunters of the deep, and the demon is gaining ground. Torak and Renn must race to save their pack-brother, battling the harsh, icy waves and merciless torrents. If they can't find Wolf in time, the bond between them will be severed for ever.
