Story of a young Indian-American girl who is art first nervous to share her culture with her friends. When her friends arrive for her family's Diwali celebration she shares her favorite holiday and her friends all enjoy the celebration. Her hesitancy about herself, family, and culture, turn into self acceptance as she realizes how beautiful her culture is. I would say that this is a higher elementary book because it has a lot of text that would be appropriate for more intermediate/advanced readers. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I liked this book because it teaches children about a different holiday than their own. It’s very informative and entertaining for kids to learn about. I would use this book for 1st-3rd graders because it's informative but also easy to read for all age levels.
