Italy Betrayed, by Peter Tompkins (23 Jan) This is a book by a guy who was a spy in Rome during World War Two, but this book is not so much about that but is about the fall of Mussolini, giving a detailed and excellent account thereof, and about Italy's effort thereafter to surrender. But the book has no footnotes, though it cries out for some since there obviously was a lot of research put into the book. The book shows some personal bias, being very anti Italian king and anti-Churchill, but all in all the account is full of interesting events in an interesting time. ( )
