This is the 2nd book in the Monster Mash trilogy. The oracles have released new prophecies and it's up to Petra to fulfill them again. Galen has been sent back to the front lines as a mortal this time for the New Gods and a truce has been called at least for now, The Mash unit has been turned into a hospital to treat immortals. Petra's also working on creating an anesthetic that will work on immortals with help from her long thought dead boyfriend Marc who works for the Old Gods army. If that isn't enough the war is possibly starting up again and there's word of the Old Gods creating a secret weapon. It's up to Petra and Marc to stop it. Lots of action in this 2nd installment but I have to say that I missed Galen in this book. I'm just not a fan of Marc. I did like some of the new characters that were introduced in this book including the pregnant Medusa. A fun read and I look forward to the next book in the series. ( )

I had a great time with this book! This is the second book in the Monster MASH series which I would recommend reading in order if at all possible but it could also work as a stand-alone if necessary. This is a lighter read that doesn't take itself too seriously and has a fair amount of humor woven throughout the story. I am so glad that I decided to give this series a try.

Petra is a doctor working in a MASH unit during the war between the Old Gods and the New Gods. Even though there is a truce it seems her work is never done and she is dealing with a pregnant Medusa among other things. She does not expect to find her dead fiance to be quite alive and reaching out to her for help. Petra can see ghosts so she is the perfect one to help figure out what is going on at his camp, which happens to be on the opposite side of the eternal war.

I have to admit that I was a little, okay a lot, sad by the fact that Petra says goodbye to Galen at the start of this book. We spent the whole previous book getting them into a relationship and I wanted to see more. I was a little disappointed that Petra moved on as quickly as she did but I decided to just go with it and see what would happen. I am not giving up hope on seeing Galen again though!

I thought that the story was pretty exciting. It is always fun to see what some of these characters will do. Petra is often faced with impossible situations and I love how she always seems to make things work out in the end. I like that this was a lighter read with wonderful characters and a fun tone throughout. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!
