Varek has been taken. One moment he was out on the town with Merrill now he finds himself in a dungeon....injured and without his magic? Is he still in his own world...I mean a Dragon King without his magic??? Jeyra may have broke a rule or two but she has done it! She captured a Dragon King! Now he will pay for the vile crimes the dragons have committed. Only two things have gone wrong with Jeyra's plan of vengeance. In crossing the border to get Varek she broke a rule set by their governing council and this has put her at odds against the only man she's ever looked up to and trusted. Her mentor Rankin. AND...now the council wants her to interview Varek to find out what he knows. I know, I didn't trust that whole line either. As they learn about one another, you need a little give and take when you are interviewing a person. Varek asks his own questions which have Jeyra wondering just what did happen the day her family was slain. And what kind of magic is around her. There is one thing that popped up which had me scratching my head and coming up with all sorts of theories. This is going to be so interesting to see where this particular thread leads. There is so much to this book that gets us ready for the next series. Varek makes a dramatic decision. Oh and keep the names Brandr and Eurwen in mind. I have a feeling they are going to be pretty important as things go on. Varek is just minding his own business contemplating the fate of his dragons when he is abducted. When he finally gains his bearings he finds himself captured in a cell in a realm that has bound his magic. A beautiful warrior is sent to interrogate him but he doesn't know that she is the reason he is trapped in the first place. Jeyra has been led to believe that the Dragon Kings are the reason that she lost the only family she knew and loved. Interrogating him makes her realize there is more behind the cruel stories she's heard about these evasive but intriguing creatures. As secrets unravel she finds herself drawn to him and helping him is the only logical thing left to do. Soon all that she's believed in is proved wrong and she finds herself fighting for justice alongside Varek. The capture of a Dragon King is cause for celebration. Jeyra never dreamed she would actually face one of the creatures who destroyed her home. But the longer she's around him, the more she finds herself gravitating to him. All it takes is one reckless kiss that unleashes desires and the truth that has been hidden from her to set them both on a course that could be the end of them. Varek, King of Lichens, has known nothing but a life with magic. Until he finds himself on a different realm unable to call up his powers. Worse, he's in shackles with no memory of how it happened. When he sees an enthralling woman who leaves him speechless, he believes he can charm her to free him. The more she rebuffs him, the more he craves her, igniting a dangerous passion between them. Can he protect the woman he's fallen for while uncovering the truth - or will peril that neither see coming tear them apart? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
