I love this picture book -- it's a true story about an 11 year old girl who loves writing letters and takes the time to thank her local letter carrier - Doug for all that he does in taking care of her letters. This picture book is about recognizing the people in our community that make our lives easier and contribute to everyone's health and happiness. This work and the thousands of tiny acts of kindness that accompany it have a huge impact. The book also captures the COVID pandemic in a subtle way and recognizes the thousands that went to work in the midst of it.

The illustrations are cute and engaging. (Some commented on the inconsistent mask wearing in the illustrations.)

Great way to share concepts of community helpers and gratitude for them with young readers. This would be a good choice for next year's summer reading book list. ( )
