Me parece kind of happy ending forzado. After a life of abuse at the hands of her father and others, Mariko Ikawgawa has committed suicide. Her best friend, Tomoyo Shiino, is wild with grief and sets off on a reckless adventure to spread her ashes. The grief-powered road trip is a pretty standard trope and the author leans heavily into its cliches. Aside from the young female protagonist, it doesn't seem like there is anything here that I haven't seen before and done better, placing this book firmly in the "just okay" column. Also included in the book is an unrelated and weird short story about criminals set in the 1990s in the American Southwest, followed by a coda to the main story. It's a jarring juxtaposition. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
