This story of a woman being a spy in a Roman town near Hadrian's Wall and who meets with and falls in love with a high level Roman is interesting but I felt sometimes that she really wasn't falling in love as much as being besieged and not resisting. I have issues with the She says No and he overcomes her resistance stuff and this read like a much older book.

While parts of it were interesting the romance part fell flat for me. It gained points for some details but lost points for a relationship that didn't really come across well and a romance that felt more rushed than romantic. (
