I love these collections for what they add to the series. The extra background is so wonderful. I love finding out how things all end up relating to each other. Nothing happens in a vacuum. People are beginning to settle in and make new lives for themselves. The interactions show the butterfly effect. It is so true -- they did not have mass production, but we don't have the fine craftsmanship for individual pieces. ( )

To the memory of Cheryl Daetwyler, who died a year ago. And let us take this moment to express our respect for her husband Roger, who took care of Cheryl during the long years after she was incapacitated by a stroke. It's easy enough to say "in sickness and in health" when you're exchanging wedding vows. It's far, far harder to make good on the promise when and if the time comes.

The Grantville Gazette print anthologies (with a Roman numeral) are not the same works as the Grantville Gazette electronic magazines (inconsistently, but lately with an Arabic numbered Volume). The print anthologies contain an additional Eric Flint story, and beginning with V selected stories from several Volumes of the e-zine.
