I loved reading how the small community of Owl Creek rallied around a family who had their baby girl taken and continued to support them during the twenty-five years after their baby's abduction. Author Belle Calhoune perfectly shows the many repercussions from the desperate act of one unstable person---intense and never-ending heartache for a grieving family and the emotions of a young woman whose life is thrown into shambles. Sage feels cheated from never knowing her birth family but also struggles with her love and loyalty for the only father that she has ever known! Getting to know the wealthy North family as she seeks the truth shows Sage just how much she has missed and reminds her that family is everything, money certainly doesn't guarantee happiness, and love and forgiveness are necessary if you truly want to find lasting peace.

There are several special characters in this book, including Sheriff Hank Crawford and his adorable daughter Addie. It is apparent that Hank and Sage feel an attraction but Hank isn't ready to risk another heartbreak! I also enjoyed meeting Hank's mother and sister and the two young men who turn out to be Sage's brothers; I am hoping that their stories will continue in the next books of the Home to Owl Creek series. I highly recommend Her Secret Alaskan Family to anyone who enjoys Christian romance and contemporary fiction.
