Short story done right

This was a really good shorter story. The characters were believable and so freaking cute. Holly and Nick were a great match. Just wish it were longer. ( )

This was a very cute Christmas novella about a Grinch type boss, Nick who spends his days scowling and growling orders to employees especially towards Holly. Holly is the epitome of a Christmas loving, decorating before Thanksgiving, crazy jovial holiday type. She comes by her love of Christmas honestly, her parents named her and her sisters Christmas themed names so, when she encounters her boss Nick and his grumpiness everyday she tries to ignore her attraction towards him and remind herself his the Grinch. When they end up on a business trip to Germany and that is when the magic happens even if Holly fights it tooth and nail. I loved this as a quick Christmas themed read and can’t wait for the next ones. ( )

Just one word: WOW. It's not easy to wrap up a good story, much less one as incredible as this, in such short pages, but Jana did it anyway. Holly Mistletoe Winters, falling in love with her boss, Nick Saint-Croix. If that ain't Christmas magic, I don't know what is. Unlike most novellas I read this time of the year, The Boss Who Stole Christmas was actually interesting and kept me hooked to the plot. The book has a remarkable storyline unlike most mediocre plots one can guess before they're over. I like that the story had some kind of falling out which wasn't totally stupid (Holly's concerns were legit, even if she was a bit blind to love.) And I like that there were no declarations of love even though the emotion existed. There's more Holly and Nick have to discover about each other just before they give into feelings and commitment, but they're made for each other nonetheless. The Boss Who Stole Christmas was the first book I read by Jana Aston but it sure as - excuse my language - heck, won't be the last! ( )

Oh, man, this was cute! Snarky and adorable, Holly has a thing for her grumpy boss Nick, who supervises her at a toy store in the Midwest. They get sent to Germany for the holidays and sparks fly. This was so Christmasy and frenemies to lovers cute. German Christmas markets. Christmas cookies. Advent calendars. Toy trains. And steamy scenes! A short quick novella that was absolutely perfect!

I liked this audiobook. It hooked me from the very beginning and kept me entertained until the end. I'll admit, being from Michigan and having this book set in a town I'm familiar with (or at least being based off a town I'm familiar with) certainly helped. I also happen to love Germany.

I loved the inner dialog of the main character and the back and forth thoughts she experiences because they are totally relatable.

I would recommend this quick read if someone wanted a holiday romance. ( )
