A great graphic novel for teaching about life lessons and friendship. The bugs in this story are different, however, even with challenges, still are able to come together and be best friends.

Ridiculously charming with its own little bug-lore, adorable artwork, and pleasing color palette. The two main characters are innocent sweetie-pies.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end, and it manages to covertly sneak in some “life lessons,” like, communication and peace is good, and, sometimes, your friends will change, or what’s a cage to you might be someone else’s home (there’s even a random drug-trip scene with special mushrooms). Sometimes, the beetle boys got philosophical. Also, Dragonfly is one of my favorite characters.

Cute. I think it would be best as a book to read aloud to a child, rather than for independent reading. I can't see too many of my library's big juvie graphic novel readers getting pulled into the short little stories about these bug friends, who are about as gentle as Frog and Toad. The illustrations are adorable. ( )
