I was all set to reread this and then just put it onto various swapping sites along with the rest of my young adult literature, but I couldn't. The story just captured me all over again even though I remembered much of it. What is not to love- it's got pirates, interesting characters, and historical fiction? In this story Rosie knows she's falling in love with Raider, but she also knows she doesn't want to be in love with a man who seems to already have a girlfriend and girls in every port besides. She tries to be his friend, but that seems to only make things worse, so she decides to go to England to live with her aunt. The best thing seems to be completely separate from him. ( )
