Slowly but surely, Susan, Esther, and Daisy are growing up. This collection hardly refers to them as students at all, as they seem to have reached that point in their studies where they are drifting toward the grand finale. I wonder what they will do after college. Meanwhile, Susan and McGraw host a “grown up” dinner party and attend his brother’s wedding (which seems to be full of Susan’s enemies). Daisy tortures the local driving school by trying to learn how to work a car. And Esther infiltrates the neighbourhood nerds to discover who has been stealing from her boss at the comic book shop. It’s all very grown up, but there is plenty of time for silliness and youthful indiscretion along the way. ( )

I realized a few weeks ago I let myself get behind on this series. Yay for getting to read a few of the books closer together!
Ed’s story was a fine, but it felt like kind of a heavy theme for this lighthearted series. I loved the rest of it: Susan solving the comic book store theft, Dean’s therapy dog, and McGraw’s brother’s wedding (the chat between Susan and McGraw’s dad was funny and sweet). It’s always fun to spend time with this gang. ( )

Ed struggles with the ending of the honeymoon phase of his relationship with Nina. The girls team up to track down a shop lifter at the comics shop where Esther works. Daisy learns to drive. The girls attend McGraw's brother's wedding.

Was this a trial-run for keeping the series going indefinitely? College seems forgotten as the trio engage in a variety of sitcom hijinks involving a secret pet, driving lessons, a shoplifter, and a wedding. Still fun, but I'm ready for a conclusion. ( )
