Whenever I start with one of her books, I truly struggle to put it down and stop reading, lol. And with this one, it was no different. Once started, I didn't want to step away. Cairo and Dillinger are both interesting characters. I'll admit, at times Cairo got on my nerves a little, especially with some of his angsting and he was also very quick to condemn. But then again, I suppose a lot was his upbringing coming into play. I'll admit to some confusion having a character named Cairo with a story set in Egypt though *grin* I see where the author was coming from, but a few times I had a WTH moment. I don't know enough about archaeology and all the procedures and hoops that need to be jumped though to know if the author was using artistic licence or not, but it definitely made for a great story. It's definitely a series I'm planning on continuing! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Cairo is an archeologist from a prominent archeology family. He's been trying to get away from his family legacy of finding the next big thing, but when he has an opportunity to do it for himself instead of his family, he jumps at the chance. Along with his twin Memphis and best friend Magnus, they bring on a new guy, Dillinger, to go in search of Alexander the Great's final resting place.
Cairo has difficulty trusting, but he and Dillinger connect in a way neither of them expected. There were some ups and downs, but I loved watching these two navigate their feelings while going on a great big exploration. The epilogue was incredible, and I wanted more. I really hope we can see more of the guys in this book. Not only did I love Cairo and Dillinger, Magnus and Memphis were awesome secondary characters who deserve their own HEAs.
