Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. This book was underwhelming for me. These little pocket/coffee table type books should really be attractive so you want to read and browse through them. I thought the pictures and illustrations of this book were ok but nothing fantastic. It is a cute little book, but I didn't really learn anything new from it. The Earl Grey Marteani, Audrey Saunders, Bemelman's Bar, p.63, surprisingly good.Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I am glad to have read and received this little book. It has me ready to try different teas and to begin to use the correct preparation method. It included just a bit more information about teas that was necessary for me. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. This short primer on tea is focused on the beverage (really the plant and its leaves). Although there are a few recipes for tea-based cocktails, the book does not discuss tea, the meal/social occasion at all. It's a good overview of the different kinds of tea and the various preparations of the leaves. The author does slip in a plug for his tea business from time to time, which is a touch annoying. The ARC is almost entirely in black & white (4 sample pages are in color), but the book is full of photographs and drawings, which will be beautiful in the final copy.Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I like my nonfiction books to be either a) comprehensive or b) deep dives into a subject. Unfortunately -- and I should've been warned by the title -- "A Little Tea Book" is neither of these, zipping from one chapter of snippets to another. I could've dealt with that if the book had more charml sadly, Beckwith's "personal" musings seem limited to the times he went to some far-off enclave to track down rare, uber-expensive teas. (Self-promotional much?) As a freebie this is fine, but I don't recommend shelling out $20 for this guide when there are surely better ones out there. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
