Elizabeth Dyson's father has died and she can't inherit the family company until she turns twenty nine or is married. Whichever comes first. Donovan is a schemer and ruthless and has came up with a plan for Elizabeth and Weston to have a fake engagement and marriage and a calculated divorce at least seven months later. This book runs parallel to Donovan and Sabrina's story (because in their story it runs through Weston and Elizabeth's engagement and wedding) Weston is still the ladies man he was in college and Elizabeth is a rich, smart, poised woman who caves to the business decision. She and Weston get along like oil and water. The lines are drawn at no sex and the bets are on. Having to live with each other alternating between their homes and trying to agree on wedding plans has the couple fighting the attraction between them. Giving into sex brings them closer together but neither will admit their feelings. A few minutes before the wedding a bombshell is dropped into Weston's lap changing everything. As vows are said and declarations are made they realize that it is real and the book ends in the cliffhanger setting up for the next book! ( ) I heard the book on Audible, and it was fantastic. The narrators did such an awesome job that I can confidently say that it was as much the narrators as the storyline and writing style that kept me riveted to the audiobook till the wee hours of the morning. As for the storyline, I loved the banter b/w the MCs. Moreover, my fav part was how Elizabeth was portrayed as a strong and ambitious heroine. There were times when Weston said or did something that made him seem like a major douche, he somehow still came off as good, just plain and simple good, inside out and that's something I really loved. The secondary characters were awesome, especially Donovan and Angela. All in all, it was a captivating read, one I just couldn't seem to put down. Will definitely be reading more from Laurelin Paige 4 stars Much of this book felt like a rehash of what was already discovered in Sabrina's story. It just took a more in-depth look at how things transpired between Weston and Elizabeth. It still was good, but it left me a little meh. I'm hoping part two of this duet gives more depth to the story and offers a few surprises on the way. I heard the book on Audible, and it was fantastic.
