Another great installment in what has become one of my favorite graphic novel series. ( ) As entertaining as Susan, Daisy and Esther were at the beginning of their college journey, they have only gotten better with age. These chapters relate their further forays into adulthood, as Susan and Daisy prepare to move in with their significant others, and Esther finds herself adrift, roommateless, and possibly friendless. But true friendship conquers all once again, and the girls must face reality when they are handed some stark truths from the mouths of babes. I anticipate these silly girls (who despite all appearances to the contrary have solid feet and level heads) will continue to entertain as they enter their third and final year of university. graphic fiction, series (vol. 9=issues 33-36) Ch. 33: Now that Susan/McGraw and Daisy/Ingrid have decided to live off on their own, Esther is left to try to find new housemates to live with next year, and Ed Gemmell might be in the same predicament. 34: Esther and Ed do a pub crawl to celebrate their finding lodging (with Dean, and others); they trade stories from their high school prep days, but then Ed accidentally lets out that he had a crush on Esther during first year. 35: Ed has a concussion and broken ankles after drunkenly falling off a wall; Esther stumbles home to find that her friend Sarah and Sarah's 10-y.o. sister Lottie have come for a visit. Lottie spends time with Daisy for a while, and then with Susan and McGraw; everybody goes to visit Ed in the hospital. 36: Daisy breaks up with Ingrid and it doesn't go well, but Daisy seems to feel better after a couple weeks. Final grades are posted; Esther wants to re-sit one of her literature courses. Everyone moves out of the house at the end of the year; Ingrid calls Daisy's grandmother looking for her and unintentionally outs her. Esther tries to find housing and goes on a pub night with Ed, which is both illuminating and disastrous. Susan and McGraw prepare to live together for their third year at school. Daisy finally makes a decision about her relationship with Ingrid that will have broader implications than she realizes. Another solid entry in this series that I continue to adore. However, I'm already pre-emptively sad at the thought of the girls going into their final year of uni. I don't want this brilliant series to end. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"It's the end of second year, and everything is happening so fast! Moving out, breaking up, breaking hearts, breaking...bones? Best-Mates-for-Life Esther, Daisy, and Susan had better hold on tight if they want to make it to their third year, never mind in one piece!"--Back cover.
