This book has a tough love vibe at times, more in tone than in content. At other times the suggestions seemed a bit too optimistic, but that probably varies with the individual. Overall the advice was good, if fairly obvious. ( )

nonfiction; health/chronic illness and self-help
This was written by an accomplished young woman who has dealt with a lot, and particularly focuses on all of the anxieties that a teen or 20-something person might have with coming to terms with their disability, staying active socially/building that support network, and adulting/learning how to become independent.
I should think it would be very valuable for a young person in similar circumstances but not as helpful for those of us who have already figured these things out. Still, I picked up a couple things while skimming through, and I would recommend this to others with the caveat that Jacqueline is not a doctor, and maybe is a bit dismissive of the "alternative" remedies without knowing much about them (I myself refuse to try acupuncture, but I'm not going to discourage others--including my own doctor--from keeping up the practice if it seems to help them).
